Introduction

The NovaStar5 system collects real-time environmental data and provides alarm notifications. NovaStar5 is often implemented as a flood warning system using precipitation and stream data, but can also work with other data such as temperature, wind, and water quality. The Operator Interface (Operator) provides useful displays and features for emergency managers, focusing on understanding flood risk. The Operator provides several data views to simplify the evaluation of conditions and trends for the entire system and individual sites including an interactive map and dashboards.
